If your pool is plagued by leaves, pebbles and other larger particles, then a pressure side cleaner may be the right choice for you. These are driven by pressure generated by your existing pump, (or via a dedicated booster pump) and are highly effective at cleaning away larger particles. They are a little bit more expensive and perhaps harder to install than some other cleaner models.
Do you want a no hassle solution for a small pool?
While the trend in cleaners tends to be towards more automated solutions, if you’ve got a small pool sometimes all you want is a quick and easy solution without having to deal with complicated installs, hoses and codes. The number of good quality manual cleaners on the market is growing rapidly. Some of them operate using battery power while others work via a siphon effect that is generated as you push the cleaner around the pool.
Looking for an affordable automated cleaner?
Many owners decide to purchase a suction side cleaner as these are less expensive than pressure side or robotic cleaners but still provide an almost automated experience. Suction cleaners are typically attached to the skimmer and work off the suction generated by your pool pump. If you are using a suction cleaner remember to monitor the state of your pool filter as most cleaners do not have separate debris bags.
