A dishwasher is an absolute must for the on the go woman. Whether she is a stay at home mom or she is out in the workforce bringing home the bacon, she doesn’t want to spend her valuable time doing dishes by hand. For that matter, neither does the man on the go. And in the long run, it may be more economical to have a dishwasher do the dishes rather than the lady or the man of the house.
An economical choice for that unpopular chore is the Bosch Slimline dishwasher. It has a triple A rating for energy class wash, which is important when we are all trying to be careful about our water consumption and our electricity use. The Bosch Slimline is a new line of dishwashers, having becoming available in 2007. Since it is such a recent model, obviously saving energy is an important feature.
The Slimline has four programs. It has a pre-wash, quick wash, a daily eco cycle, and an auto cycle. This brand might be considered a “green” dishwasher since economy and ecology are
both important parts of it. The greener we can be, the greater it will be for our world. So hats off to Bosch for being environment friendly.
Some other nice features of the Slimline is that it will hold a nine place setting of dishes, it has a stainless steel interior, and one of its safety features if a child lock. Its time delay is for one to nineteen hours. Bosch recommends the Time Delay for overnight cleaning. This is helpful for low energy use. Again, Bosch is highly economical. Since overnight cleaning is recommended, it is important that the Slimline be a fairly quiet machine. The noise level is forty nine decibels.
The Slimline comes with a two year warranty and is available in white, black, and silver.
It is a small dishwasher, so it may be more practical for singles, couples, or small families. It would be a good choice for apartment dwellers or for a house with little space for a dishwasher.
There are some drawbacks to the Bosch Slimline dishwasher. One of the biggest problems is that it looks to be a British product. This is the reason you often see it listed as slimline dishwashers UK. Nothing against British products, but it does make this more difficult to purchase. Online it is priced in pounds. The price is 259-439 pounds. I have no idea what that would be in dollars, but I am sure it wouldn’t be too hard to find out the answer. Online, there were only five sellers listed, which makes it even more of a problem to purchase. Its online rating was two stars out of five. That isn’t the best rating in the world, so another drawback there.
With so many great American products, it doesn’t seem to be the best idea to purchase the Bosch. But who knows? Some people are very brand loyal and if those people have owned a Bosch and love it, then they will probably go through the hassles to purchase one. I do like the idea that this dishwasher brand wants to be “green”, but even that can be a drawback.
Sometimes “green” products are not built to last as long as some of the brands that have been around a while. And being available since 2007 really hasn’t been long enough to find out if this brand is going to have staying power. Maybe it will, but in the meantime it is some of a wait and see thing.
It is your call. Weigh the pros and cons of the Bosch Slimline to other major brands, then go from there. You may to compare to the Miele slimline dishwasher. Ultimately, you want the best dishwasher at the best price. Look at all the major brands and determine for yourself, what is the perfect dishwasher for your household. You can delve deeper at the variation in the products including the integrated slimline dishwasher and particular colors like the slimline silver dishwasher.
