Kids love playing dress up so that they can imitate the people around them and make new discoveries each day. Even when they are young, kids have an idea of what they want to be when they grow up. There are several interesting dress up games for kids under 9 that kids can play among themselves or with their parents. Playing Doctor or Nurse
For this particular game the kids require doctor and nurse kits and costumes. The doctor’s kit should include gloves, a baby dropper, a fake syringe and of course a stethoscope. These costumes and kits can be purchased inexpensively online or at your local costume shop. You can also put up curtains in the kid’s room to create a “hospital”. The kids can either take turns playing doctor and patient or use their action figures and stuffed animals as patients.
Police Officer
This is the prefect dress up game for kids who love solving crimes. Police officer costumes are really easy to find especially in Halloween costume shops and toy departments. One kid can play the police officer and the rest can be witnesses and criminals. The police costume can be paired with a battery powered police car enabling the kids to play traffic cops. As a parent, encourage your little police officers to issue tickets to anyone who isn’t following the rules.
Fire Fighter
Kids love pretending to be fire fighters. If your child loves being a hero, get him or her a firefighter costume. Make sure you also get them a helmet and a fake phone so that they can receive “emergency calls”. Encourage the child to come up with scenarios that would require their attention such as a stuffed cat stuck in a tree or a burning playhouse.
Astronaut
This game is perfect for kids who have an interest in the sky and space. You can buy an astronaut costume for you little space lover over the internet or at a local costume shop. Encourage the kids to learn about the planets and plan a mission to one of the planets. Some glow-in-the-dark stars will make their first space station look real.
