The world wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t have appliance problems.  Hotpoint dishwashers are no different.  Luckily, dishwasher can have a fairly long life if the owner does a good job at taking care of the dishwasher.

Like other appliances, Hotpoint dishwashers can have drainage problems.  This can be a messy and possibly smelling problem.  When something doesn’t drain, there has to be some type of blockage.  It could be food.  Maybe something got caught in the drain that wasn’t supposed to be there.  Sometimes running the empty dishwasher through may send whatever is blocking it on through.  Hopefully it is something as simple as that.  No one wants  to call the repair man and pay a repair bill.  That hurts.

Another problem associated with Hotpoint and other dishwashers is that the dishes are not getting clean.  This isn’t uncommon for most dishwashers and it is a good idea when this problem presents itself, that the owner take a few simple steps.  Rinse food off the dishes before loading.  I know this sounds a little simplistic, but unless you have a real super duper dishwasher food usually gets back on the dishes in the wash and rinse cycle.

In my opinion, using a better dishwashing detergent is helpful.  Cascade is an excellent brand and there are many options to choose from when purchasing Cascade.  If you use a cheaper brand, rinsing the dishes is even more important.  Sometimes a good soak in soapy water is helpful.  This may seem like more work than anyone wants to do, but it is better than having dried on food stuck to your dishes after they are washed.

One problem that can pop up with Hotpoint dishwashers or any dishwasher for that matter is a very strong, unpleasant odor.  This usually occurs after a few years of using your dishwasher.  I experienced this problem and was concerned because who wants to put dishes in a smelly dishwasher.  I solved my problem by pouring about two cups of bleach in the bottom of my dishwasher and let it set for a few hours.  I could see and smell the different.  It was great to have a clean smelling dishwasher again.

Since dishwashers can have odors, then obviously they get dirty.  Using the bleach was very helpful in cleaning, but there are dishwashing cleaning products that will do the trick as well.  Be sure to read the instructions well before using the cleaner in your dishwasher.  Another very easy form of cleaning is to use lemonade mix and then run the dishwasher a full cycle.  And be sure it is lemonade, not strawberry or raspberry flavor.  Your dishwasher will only respond to lemonade mix.

Your Hotpoint dishwasher after years of service to you may need servicing by a Hotpoint repair technician.  Some things can be done at home, but if there are some electrical problems or trouble with cycles, then it is time to call in a professional.  After some evaluation, the technician may very well be able to make the repair right there in your kitchen, but major problems may result in removal of the dishwasher.  Once this happens, count on a not so nice repair bill.  A good technician will advise the owner whether it is worth it to have the dishwasher fixed or to go ahead and purchase a new one.  If your  Hotpoint dishwasher has given you many years of service, then it is probably time to think about a new one.

It is always a good idea to check the Hotpoint owner’s manual when problems arise.  If that isn’t enough information, then check the Hotpoint washer trouble shooting online.  Your problem may be easily diagnosed by you with the right information.  If worse comes to worse, call Hotpoint and get suggestions from a professional.  Since the Aquarius is a top seller for Hotpoint, it is reasonable that many of the requests for help relate to Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine repair issues. Hotpoint technicians are there to make their customers happy, so it is in their best interest to take care of problems as quickly and as easily as possible.
