To the rescue comes the IKEA company. People love to shop at this store and will sometimes travel for a day to get to a city that has a store. It’s a real adventure. You may not have a retail outlet in your town, or even want to go out of town just for a nice rug. And you don’t have to. IKEA’s website provide much of the information that you need.
You will need to double check however. Not all IKEA products are available to buy from the website. Then again, if you find enough great stuff, you might make that trip after all. The site does have listing of all the states and cities where you can find an outlet. While you are at the site, you can request an IKEA catalog.
Rugs at IKEA can run under $100. The Adum is a low profile rug that comes in the colors of dark brown, green, red and off white and is available in three sizes. The largest size is 6’7” by 9’10”.
To reduce problems with shedding the rug is made from polypropen. This rug has a thick pile which would feel very nice on your bare feet as well as keeping the noise down.
This cheap IKEA rug is woven by machine. Don’t like rugs that slip around where you are always having to bend over and straighten it? Or, worse worry about a guest walking in and having their feet fly out from under them when they step on one of your rugs? That shouldn’t be a problem with this rug as uses the anti slip STOPP underlay.
Like with many rugs, wet spills should not be rubbed but rather you would use paper towels to soak up the wetness. If needed the rug could then be cleaned with a mild detergent using a damp cloth. If a spot has dried on the rug it should be scrapped in the direction of the mid section of the rug. The rug can also be professionally cleaned.
