Liberté perfumes for women a Gloria Cacharel perfume has been on the perfume market since 2007. When it was launched, it was given the image of an independent woman, who left the age of innocence of childhood and adolescence behind, and started a journey of freedom following a somehow bohemian lifestyle.

From an aromatic point of view, this ladies perfume falls into the gourmand category (Angel perfume by Thierry Mugler would be a popular example), as it is inspired by a French dessert, made  with pastry and filled with orange marmalade.

In the opening there are slightly bitter oranges, accompanied by a feeling of caramel or praline, with a distinct sugar-sweet aroma, reminding of the typical orange marmalade. When the middle phase starts, caramel tone is even more intense and definitely dominant, together with oranges on a secondary level.

As the phase progresses, caramel lowers its intensity a little, leaving room to other notes, like a neutral floral – probably a jasmine, plus a soft and aromatic patchouli. At times there are notes of vanilla, similar to caramel. At this point this fragrance is indeed very similar to Angel perfume. In the final stage, there is again patchouli with traces of orange.

The perfume stands out for its gourmand character and its sugar-sweet notes at the beginning and for a good part of the middle phase, leaving a feeling of bitter orange on the skin. It is suitable for an office environment, thanks to patchouli, which tames the sweet notes and helps project a feminine and professional image.

For a night use it will have two sides: a mature one, thanks to caramel and patchouli of the middle phase, with also a final part that is very formal, and a more rebellious one, thanks to oranges. On the romantic side, gourmand notes are always attractive whereas the final is more mature and feminine. The ideal age to wear it starts at 25, although 30 is probably more appropriate.
