If you love perfume and you know what fragrance you like, but would prefer to have a change every now and then, search for scents in the same family as your normal favorite. That way you will not buy something that is completely different from your normal scent and therefore out of your taste zone.
Perfume creators make scents in different families such as Floral or Woody. If you want to buy something new but do not want to waste your money on something you will not end up liking, pick a scent from the same family you normally wear. If you like vanilla scents, you may change from Vanilla Oriental to something like Vanilla Floral, for example.
High quality ladies perfumes generally develop as the day goes on. They may give the wearer an initial burst of scent when they are first applied but as they fade, they will have more deep, rich tones. This complexity helps them to last throughout the day on different levels.
Cheaper perfumes lack those complexities and generally do not evolve throughout the day. They simply fade and need to be re-applied to truly last all day. In perfumes, you often get what you pay for so if you can afford a more expensive perfume, it is likely to be worth it in the end.
